The West Midlands Modern Pentathlon Club was formed on the 2nd January 2006. The Clubs prime focus is to promote the sport of Modern Pentathlon in the West Midlands Region at all levels and to encourage participation from all age groups. The Club constitution and rules can be found here.
The Club is based at Aldersley Stadium in Wolverhampton which is where we meet once a month to shoot and fence - see the development page for more information and dates (beginners are always welcome).
All members of the West Midlands Modern Pentathlon Association as at the 2nd January 2006 automatically became members of the Club. Membership costs nothing, we just ask that should you represent the Club as an individual or as a member of a team at the National Championships then you wear the Club polo-shirt or hoody at the awards ceremony and where appropriate during the competition. We would also like you to wear the swim cap (if you wear one normally) during the swim event. If you would like to purchase the Club polo shirt, hoody and/or swim cap, please contact Sue Hyde on 07976 981139.
The benefits of the Club to members of the Region are:-
We can create teams of athletes who would otherwise only been able to compete as individuals. This will give many more of our members the opportunity to compete in the National Championships (subject to qualification).
|
Affiliated Clubs have 'first claim' on their members and should enter their athletes as usual, making up teams of three wherever possible. These teams will represent their affiliated club at the National Championships (subject to qualification).
|
If an affiliated club is not able to make up complete teams of three, the remaining members have the choice to compete as individuals for their affiliated club, or (with their affiliated clubs permission) make up teams with other West Midlands members and represent the West Midlands Modern Pentathlon Club. |
